Preparation Time

Participants living in Japan, please submit your application for volunteer service 2 weeks prior to your desired dates of service.

Participants living overseas, please submit your application at least 1 month before your desired dates of service. Also be aware that CRASH Japan does not issue documents for individual visas. Most volunteers are able to secure a tourist visa on their own merits, please check with your nation's consulate.

We cannot guarantee that you will be provided with your first choice of place, date of service or service project.

For Base Volunteers:

• A team needs to be made up of at least 2 individuals for a time period of at least 2 days.
• As the living conditions at the base are primitive in some cases and the work in the disaster area can be strenuous, it is recommended that you be in good health mentally, emotionally and physically.
