CRASH's Ichinoseki Base is located in Ichinoseki, set in Japan's Iwate prefecture. The facilities for the base have been lent to us for use by the volunteers. There are four units of each with three bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a dining room. Meals are all provided by the base, and hot springs are only a five-minute drive away.
Teams in Ichinoseki Base perform a variety of work. Some teams will provide emotional care to survivors by visiting temporary housing, providing meals, and holding Mobile Cafés. Other teams might be removing sludge, doing light carpentry work, doing yard work, and general cleaning up.
